NEW PUBLICATION:

The Forever Wild Land Trust: An interim report to the citizens of Alabama - 1992 through 2009

What is Forever Wild?

The Forever Wild Program was established in 1992, by constitutional amendment, to provide for the purchase of public recreational lands. Since its inception, the program has purchased lands for general recreation, nature preserves, additions to Wildlife Management Areas and state parks. Currently, the Board is focusing on acquisitions in central Alabama.  Seventy-four (74) tracts totaling 212,792 acres located throughout the state have been acquired.
