Coon Creek Tract

Location: Tallapoosa County; T19N, R22E, Sections 28 and 29

Acreage: 320

THE COON CREEK TRACT was purchased to provide outdoor recreational opportunities. This tract located on the banks of Yates Reservoir on the Tallapoosa River will provide recreational opportunities in the form of hunting, fishing, hiking and ecological education. 

The Coon Creek Tract can be accessed by taking Tallapoosa County Rd 6 (Macedonia Rd) to the north off of AL Hwy 14.  After traveling North on County Rd 6 for 3 miles, turn left onto Hicks Store Rd.  Follow Hicks Store Rd for 1 mile and vere right onto Gravel Pit Rd.  Take an immediate right onto Coon Creek Landing Rd.  This will lead you to the boat ramp and parking lot.  To achieve access from the North side of the property, continue on Tallapoosa County Rd 6 for 0.8 miles past Hicks Store Rd and turn left onto Elkins Rd.  Follow Elkins Rd for 1.8 miles to Lovelady Rd.  Turn left onto Lovelady Rd.  Follow Lovelady Rd for 0.2 miles, then turn left onto Sulfur Springs Rd.  Follow Sulfur Springs Rd for 3.4 miles to access the Northeast corner of the property.
