Overview
Jackson County is home to the Coon Gulf Tracts, which adjoins the TVA Raccoon Small Wild Area. Visitors to the site can experience the green-forested mountains, fauna-hosting caves, natural springs, rocky bluffs and riparian forests that border the Coon Gulf Cove of the Tennessee River.
Recreational opportunities include hunting, fishing, boating and wildlife observation.
Hunting
The tract is open for public hunting as part of the Raccoon Creek Wildlife Management Area. Hunters must possess a valid hunting license, a WMA license and a free map/permit. Permits and other WMA information may be downloaded from the Wildlife Management Areas webpage.

Directions
From Scottsboro, take US 72 North approximately 20 miles to AL-117. Turn right on AL-117 and travel approximately 3 miles to Jackson Co. Rd. 491. Turn left on Co. Rd. 491 and travel approximately 5 miles. A roadside parking area is available at the gate on the left.
